REACHING - TRAINING - BUILDING

What is HonorBound Motorcycle Ministry(HBMM)?

HonorBound MM is a ministry to REACH bikers and motorcyclists with the gospel, to TRAIN Christian motorcyclists in evangelism and discipleship, and to BUILD a network of churches who are enthusiastic about this unusual ministry.

With over nine million bikers in the US, there is an incredible window of opportunity for us – if we are willing to move out of our comfort zones and embrace bikers and motorcyclists in our communities.

How is HBMM different from other motorcycle ministries?

HBMM is a church based motorcycle ministry. Where most Christian motorcycle ministries and/or clubs do not require regular attendance in a local church, HBMM requires that a pastor endorse the members as faithful attenders and supporters of the local church. The local HBMM chapter comes under the authority of the local church leadership just as any other ministry of that church.

It is our firm belief that a believer cannot mature spiritually without a committed relationship with a local church., Eph. 4:9-16

Secondly, HBMM requires higher standards for membership than many other groups. We require that members take a course teaching them how to do evangelism and that they be drug, alchohol and tobacco free before getting the patch and while keeping the patch. It is about honor in ministry to the culture that we are reaching.

Where is HBMM operating… is it national?

HBMM was formed nationally in 2006 and was introduced in February 2008 at the Assemblies of God National Men’s Leadership Conference as the national motorcycle ministry of the Assemblies of God. It is a partnership between AG US Missions Chaplaincy Department and the HonorBound Men’s Ministries Department.

Although the partnership includes the Men’s Ministries Department, HBMM is available for men and women.

What is the past and future of HBMM?

HBMM was originally founded by Chaplain Russ and Judy Cockrum. Although it had originally a three piece patch and operating in a few states, Russ and Judy allowed it to be changed to a one piece patch and to become the national motorcycle ministries patch of the Assemblies of God.

With over nine million bikers and five full-time motorcycle chaplains serving in US Missions as the national leadership team of HBMM, the future of HBMM is wide open.
